This is the homepage of the Stiftelsen för Strategisk Forskning (SSF) funded project Capturing and Visualizing Large scale Human Action.
The goal of this project is to build a 3D reconstruction of the motion of all the players during a professional fooball game. This has numerous potential applications especially for the visualization of the game for spectators and its transmission for broadcastors. And also it would be of great interest to the games industry to obtain high quality motion capture from real games.
We intend to construct this 3D reconstruction using visual data and a minimal amount of manual intervention. It is a challenging goal. But one distinct advantage this project has over previous ones is that we will have access to complete tracking data, that is each player's position on the field at every timestep, provided by the campany TRACAB one of the partners in the group.
