NewsLooking for a "researchy" Master's thesis project? I have a number of proposals for projects that I would be happy to supervise. I am hiring two PhD students and a postdoc. The deadlines for applications have passed but if you are a very strong candidate you are welcome to send in your application anyway. Applications will be reviewed until the positions have been filled.
Professional activitiesI am an Assistant Professor in the Theoretical Computer Science Group at the School of Computer Science and Communication (CSC) at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. During the academic years 2008-09 and 2009-10, I was a postdoc at the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology hosted by Madhu Sudan. Prior to that I was a PhD student of Johan Håstad in the Theory Group at KTH CSC, where I defended my PhD thesis in May 2008. For those who would prefer not to read the whole thesis there are instead [in Swedish only] a short popular science summary and a slightly longer popular science overview of my research. During my doctoral studies at KTH, apart from doing some teaching I was also the President of the Postgraduate Students' Council (doktorandrådet) at KTH CSC and the postgraduate student representative in the School Board (skolstyrelsen) and the Executive Group (ledningsgruppen) of KTH CSC. I also organized the informal PhD student seminars in Theoretical Computer Science.
