November 19.

 

November is a long month. It was gray most days and what daylight we saw was quickly shrinking. On one sunny day I managed to snap some pictures.

 

For much of November we had dustings of snow on the ground but never enough to shovel.

 

 

 

 

 


 

The temperatures hovered near freezing so we got a lot of thawing and freezing of the snow which left the walk to work quite treacherous at times.

 

 

 

 

 

 


In Sweden they put down crushed rock on the roads for traction -- supposedly in the spring they vacuum it all up again

 




This is a view from KTH east towards Lindingoe (our island).

In the foreground is a running track that gets converted into a huge skating track in the winter.

Another one of the robots; this one with an "arm" on it. The robot is in the "living room" which is actually a research laboratory outfitted with Ikea furniture which provides a realistic domestic setting for the robots.

 

 

 




We made a trip back to Toronto in November for Shanon Ju's departmental thesis defense -- which she passed with flying colors.
