2D1285, Numerical Algorithms for Parallel Computers, 4 poäng

General description

The course describes how numerical algorithms, mostly in linear algebra can be made efficient on a parallel computer.

Topics: Concurrent implementation of matrix-vector operations, LU- and QR- decomposition of a matrix, fast Fourier transform, iterative methods for Poisson's equation, and multi-grid methods.

The course is a part of the international masters program in scientific computing, and can also be studied by PhD students, or engineering students.
